SDG Open Hack means the SDG Open Hack Singapore programme, including its campus editions, workshops, training activities, mentoring sessions, judging and selection processes, Grand Finale, awards, experiential rewards and associated activities.

Service Provider means an individual or organisation engaged by GGEF to provide services in connection with our websites, programmes or operations.

Website means websites and webpages operated by or on behalf of GGEF, including GGEF's official website and SDG Open Hack webpages.

You or Participant means an individual who accesses our Website, registers for or participates in our Programmes, communicates with us, or otherwise provides Personal Data to GGEF.

2. PERSONAL DATA WE MAY COLLECT

Depending on how you interact with GGEF, we may collect Personal Data including, but not limited to:

• allocate teams to challenge statements, mentors, workshops or other activities;

• communicate competition rules, schedules, deadlines and announcements;

• receive and administer competition submissions;

• provide submissions to authorised judges, mentors and programme personnel;

• conduct judging, assessment, shortlisting and selection;

• identify finalists and winning teams;

• invite selected participants or teams to the Grand Finale;

• administer awards, certificates and prizes;

• arrange experiential rewards, overseas programmes or sponsored opportunities;

• verify compliance with competition rules;

• investigate suspected breaches of competition rules or misconduct;

• document programme outcomes and impact; and

• communicate with participants regarding future stages of the SDG Open Hack.

Participation information may also be used to prepare aggregated statistics and programme reports, such as the number of participants, institutions represented, teams formed, SDGs addressed and solutions developed.

Where reasonably possible, such reporting will use aggregated or anonymised information.

4. JUDGING, MENTORING AND COMPETITION SUBMISSIONS

By participating in the SDG Open Hack, you acknowledge that information contained in your competition submission may need to be disclosed to persons involved in administering or assessing the competition, including:

• judges;

• mentors;

• facilitators;

• GGEF personnel;

• campus organising teams;

• programme partners;

• challenge partners; and

• other authorised persons involved in competition administration.

Participants should therefore avoid including unnecessary sensitive Personal Data in pitch decks, prototypes, presentations or other competition submissions.

Competition submissions may also be presented during pitching sessions, showcases, exhibitions, the Grand Finale or other programme activities.

Where presentations or activities are open to audiences, livestreamed, photographed or recorded, information voluntarily presented by participants may consequently become visible to other participants or members of the public.

This Privacy Policy governs GGEF's handling of Personal Data. Matters concerning intellectual property ownership, confidentiality of competition ideas, rights to competition submissions and use of intellectual property should be governed separately by the applicable SDG Open Hack Competition Terms and Conditions.

5. COMMUNICATION WITH TEAM MEMBERS

Where SDG Open Hack requires participants to form or join teams, GGEF may facilitate communication between registered participants.

For example, participants may be invited to:

• join designated communication groups or platforms;

• introduce themselves to potential teammates;

• indicate their academic discipline, skills or interests; or

• contact confirmed team members.

Information that you voluntarily post in participant networking groups, team-finding channels or other shared spaces may be visible to other participants.

Participants should not publicly disclose sensitive Personal Data through these spaces.

Where GGEF directly shares contact information between participants for legitimate team administration purposes, we will endeavour to limit the information shared to what is reasonably required.

6. PHOTOGRAPHY, VIDEOGRAPHY AND PUBLICITY

GGEF may photograph, film or record its programmes for purposes including:

• documenting the programme;

• programme reporting;

• education and training;

• stakeholder reporting;

• publicity;

• social media;

• website content;

• newsletters;

• media coverage;

• promotional materials;

• programme recaps; and

• promoting future GGEF or SDG Open Hack initiatives.

Such materials may include images or recordings of participants, teams, presentations, pitching sessions, prize presentations and general event activities.

Where a participant has a specific concern regarding photography or recording, the participant may contact GGEF before the relevant programme or approach the organising team onsite. GGEF will consider reasonable requests where practicable, subject to the nature of the event and any recordings that have already been produced or published.

Separate releases or consents may be requested where appropriate for interviews, testimonials, featured participant stories or other specific promotional uses.

7. PRIZES, AWARDS AND WINNER ANNOUNCEMENTS

Where you or your team receives an award or is selected as a finalist, GGEF may publish reasonable information concerning the result, which may include:

• participant name;

• team name;

• educational institution;

• project or solution name;

• award category;

• photographs;

• videos;

• project description; and

• competition result.

Such information may be published through GGEF's Website, social media channels, newsletters, media materials, partner communications or programme reports.

Where additional Personal Data is required to administer a prize or experiential programme, GGEF may request such information separately.

GGEF is not responsible for the independent privacy practices of third-party organisations where those organisations determine their own purposes and means of processing Personal Data.

• produce statistics relating to GGEF's programmes.

Some GGEF programmes may involve students or participants who are minors.
